IELTS
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) evaluates the language ability of individuals who need to study or work in countries where English is the primary language. It is a globally recognised qualification that is required for admission to universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. It is also generally recognised by numerous professional organisations and is often used by governments as a language competency guide for providing work visas.
It consists of four modules: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
It is available in two test formats, which are the Academic IELTS and General Training IELTS.
All candidates take the same listening and speaking modules, but the reading and writing modules are different in the academic and GT IELTS.
